Choati Wrasse Not Eating

Hi. I need advice on what to do. I picked up a Choati Wrasse 10 days ago. I haven't seen it eat any food. I have been trying to feed it live black worm, live nano brine shrimps, frozen mysis, brine, bloodworm, krill, pellets, and flakes. I started to see it peck on the glass but not the rocks. What else can I try? Do I leave the Wrasse in the tank? Or should I try to capture it and move it to a 10g tank? Any help greatly appreciated! Thank you!

I would load the tank with pods in the meantime, maybe try some ROE. You are already trying a large variety of food, so I'm not sure that it's an appetite problem. Does the choati seem stressed from tankmates?

I added a bottle of AlgaeBarn's 5280 Pods last night. The tankmates doesn't bother the Choati. There has been a few occasion when the Choati got near the White-tail Bristletooth Tang, it got chased away. Otherwise, it doesn't seem stressed.

Maybe he snacks where/when you don’t see?

I’d just leave him for another week.

Looks like a healthy fish. How is it with food in the tank? Is the chrysus still trying to corner it? Moving it may stress it more. As @JoJosReef said try some roe and maybe PE calanus. Maybe a mirror for the chrysus. I have found these wrasse to do very well for months, aggressive feeders, then like a switch is thrown, wither away. Maybe @Crabby48 has more. He has delt with babies and full grown chaoti

Just keep an eye on him.
If he’s not eating, he’s going to slow way down first.

You may be correct, maybe he’s not, but I’m hoping in that instance, hunger would change that.

The mirror will also distract the brisletooth. Aggression is not always obvious. Sometimes just takes a few encounters that you may not have witnessed and after that just a stare

Yup! That's what I use to fatten up new fish. Hard to say no to an egg floating by.

What size is she? Tiny choats won’t take to prepared foods all the time until they grow. Choats want small when learning to eat. Small mysis, eggs and some coral food. &25 a brine shrimp hatchery. You only need saltwater and a desk light. Hatch in phyto and or vitamins. If it’s healthy it will eat when ready. Picture that’s clear would help. I want to see its belly. If sinking in not good. You hovering and watching the tank will not help in most cases. Feed and step back. If tank is few years old without dedicated pod eats it will live on pods.
It will learn to eat from others.

There is no reason to move it unless you suspect disease or bacterial infection which doesn’t seem to be the case.

Moving it would just take away its natural food source.

Got video to play. She looks tiny. She may take time to eat prepared. I kept baby’s for a year that only ate pods. Probably out at darling hunting.
Move her wouldn’t be smart. She needs to settle. They can’t take stress good at all.

If she is clean from parasites she will be fine!
