Looking good, keep the updates coming!

Thanks Guys :) Tank has been cruising along nicely IMO. I am thinking about switching my skimmer again, might trade my nano for a swc 200 w/ bubble blaster 2000 but not sure. I might just do the trade and hold onto the skimmer for a future upgrade although it won't be for atleast 1-2 yrs so not sure I want to hold onto an extra skimmer that long now that I am thinking about it more LOL

I still have to work out what skimmer I am going to go with long term. I am thinking the Vertex Omega.

Right now my long term plan for this system only extends to about a yr from now as we are planning to move to Texas in a yr or so after baby #2 is here and its not winter. Then the future will be determined by if we decide to buy right away or rent. With the current house paid for I will have a little money to either put a good chunk down or just pay for a yr up front.... if we buy I will go with a 250-500g tank, if we rent I will likely stick with this tank or maybe a couple small (compared to the buy plan anyway) set ups. Temporarily having both skimmers would work either way, and unloading the nano would mean 1 less acro tank to try to move LOL

Where in TX are you thinking?

I'm not opposed to moving, but recent changes in my life prevent a significant move for about 10 years... ;)

Northern Texas... McKinney area, which is about 30 miles north of Dallas. Since having Cade we have been looking to move for better schools and area but before were thinking GB, Davison, Clarkston type areas around here but we decided to just go for a full change in atmosphere.

Yeah your kinda stuck where your at and I know your way to good of a dad to just leave them behind ;)

Oh yeah forgot to mention in the post above about the skimmers..... FWIW I really like my bubble magus, not sure I will actually switch it out for the scw200 even if I do get it.

Well I talked to my friend that I have been holding the corals for a little bit ago.... He told me he plans to shut his tank down for a while until he can afford to build a new bigger stand, get a better + bigger skimmer and sump and decide what he wants to do with his lights so I can either keep the corals or sell them and give him half of whatever I get for them. He plans to get back in tho as he loves the hobby just made some initial mistakes and plans to get it all figured out and learn some more before easing back into it. I will probably just hold onto them until he figures out what he is going to do for sure incase he decides to get back in and wants them back (like I originally planned to do anyway). :)

Also, he offered me a seriously amazing deal on his 3 wrasses (1 ornate leopard male, and a hooded pair) that I am considering. The downside is I had some plans to get quite a few new higher end corals this upcoming weekend so I am debating on if I want to risk not being able to do that to get some new fish. The leopard I will likely get regardless but not 100% on the hooded pair.... OOOh which addiction to feed, wrasses or acros?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

In this case, I would go with the fish. ;)

Yeah it was a pretty hard decision being that I have a sever addicition to both wrasses and acros, but decided to go with the wrasses.... The deal is just to good to pass up, not to mention you don't see them available everyday.

Great looking tank and eye candy!

Thank you. Hopefully today or tomorrow the new additions will arrive for some new fish eye candy LOL

Texas is a great place. I would love to live down there. No luck for me though....even a killer business offer will not move us. The wife is a business owner and doens't want to give up 15 years of established clientele. While I uderstand her position, I would not at all be opposed to a move.

Can't wait to see the new additions.

You should just convince her she can manage it from a distance, reap the benefits of the strong clientele without having to do as much on the spot work :) I know, if only it were that easy, huh? lol

Just got back a little bit ago from picking up the hooded pair and the ornate leopard wrasse.... they are acclimating now. After acclimation they will be slowly introduced into the tank with lights out and the tank will remain dark until 3pm tomorrow (normal time when lights come back on). After that I hope to get pics within a day or two.

Everyone made it in safely w/o issue. I can see the hooded pair's spot which should be fine, and the ornate quickly hid in the sand as expected. The area should be ok as well as it is a few feet from the other leopards so no one should disturb anyone tonight atleast :)

He also hooked me up with a skunk cleaner shrimp which has set up in a little cave area safely for the night as well..... hopefully all the wrasses play nice with it lol

Thanks. If the leopard comes out to play tomorrow I should be able to get pics, but I would not be surprised if he hides for a day or two which is quite common so I am not promising anything lol
