Clam open too wide?

I recently moved my derasa clam into a spot of the sand bed with more light 3 days ago and today it is open really widely, is this normal?

It’s under radion gen 3s, it’s been in the tank for ~8 months I just moved it to higher light because I thought it looked pale too and was in a slightly shaded area

If there is new shell growth there isn’t much
 
This morning it looks a little better and last night it did close up so I think that’s a good sign

Good stuff. When the mantle retracts keep an eye for that white shell growth. That's a nice derasa
