Clam stuck.. help!

I have a small maxima, about 2 inches long, rhat has planted its foot ontop of a living snail! The snail keeps moving the clam around and I'm worried itll move it to some place I wont be able to find it. What should I do? Ive tried to ease it off of the snail but its not budging. Id hate to rip it's foot.

Sacrifice the snail maybe?

If you gently rock the clam back and forth, the foot should release. It may take awhile.

Take a sharp knife and gently cut the byssal threads as close to the rock as possible, do not pull it off the rock though you can cause infection and kill the clam.
