hello everyone, so a week ago i changed my water as a normal water change would go but it was before my 1 week vaction so i did a little bit more. i took out my normal amount and cleaned out my filter. i put new carbon in the filter as needed and what not. i also scraped a lot of dark green algae off the back of the glass that got everywhere and i cleaned as much as i could up and what i saw. i care alot for my fishtank and i am very worried that a week later when i came back the water is cloudy and corals don’t seem to be doing well. if anyone could help that would be amazing thank you.

How long have you been home? Was the tank being fed while you were away? What are the water parameters now? How old is your tank?

Gotta see it in pure white light i didn't know it's that blue

That's really good color for daily running but for diagnostics needs to be white light

What we're looking for is black deposits in the sand or corners of the tank, placement of certain animals and other small clues only pics tell

Unless all your reef parameters are from calibrated digital meters they're not helpful to factor. Non digital color guess kits can vary wildly from the truth

Are you sure the temperature and salinity of the water change was good?

The algae on the back glass was eating the extra nutrients in the water. Without it, you could have a bloom. A uv steriliser could help if that’s the issue.
