My clown all of a sudden decided it wants to try and host a Goniopora frag. IMO, the frag is to small. Is this okay or should I be worried for the frag?

I don't know about a frag, but my goni colony seems to love hosting the clowns. Watch your coral, if it seems like its being bothered, then move it. If its not being bothered, then its all good.

Being glued down doesn't matter, its not strong glue, its very easy to just twist your wrist and snap the glue.

It's glued down. Anything I can do?

Well now it is trying to host all my Goni in that area. Should I try and get an Anemone and just move all of the Goni?

I’ve never had an anemone (except rock flowers) so I can’t provide any suggestion for that. I don’t think you should get one for the clowns specifically but if you want one then why not.

I got a RBTA for my clowns because I was worried they would harm the goni they are always in, but they still stick to the goni, which is doing great still after 8ish months. I also got a small amazeballs goni a couple of months ago and they bounce between both gonis and a very happy Duncan coral, and leave the RBTA to the anemone crabs.

Photo I just took—you can see the crabs guarding the nearby RBTA. They pinch the crap out of me if I get too close lol

Well thank you for that info. All my frags have been in the tank for 3+ months and the clown has never shown interest. I have a glitter bomb frag and I paid $200 for. The others we $30-50. You Goni looks decent in size. All mines are still frag size. Does your goni retract when your clown host?

Mine really only retract if I’m doing maintenance and during feeding. As long your gonis aren’t constantly retracted, I’m sure they will be fine/probably benefit from the clownfish.
