Clownfish face growth

Any ideas what it is and what med to treat the fish with? It’s come and gone before same exact spot with different symptoms like more red and white open white growth.

Can't really say if it is a tumor (no treatment possible) or a bacterial infection. This looks like an older fish? If so, it could be Mycobacterium sp. There is no treatment for that. If it is just a "normal" gram negative bacterial infection, you could move it to a treatment tank and dose it with a good broad spectrum, gram negative antibiotic such as Neoplex, Kanaplex or Maracyn 2.

@Jay Hemdal She is under 2 yrs old. Medications I have on hand are malachite green, formaldehyde/formalin, neoplex, and prazipro. I was planning on quarantining her and treating her outside of the tank since I have corals.

So - three possibilities still: Myco, tumor or gram negative bacteria. The only one that can be treated is the last one, so Neoplex in a treatment tank would be the way to go.

@Jay Hemdal i just took a closer look at my fish and realized her gills look exposed with no flesh. You can see gills in the pictures. Do you think this is a deformity or symptoms of some disease. My smaller clown looks completely fine and normal aside from crooked jaw.

Sorry, not sure what you mean by “no flesh”. Did you try the neoplex yet?

Her gills are exposed because there is no gill plate covering them. I haven’t treated yet. I have new fish in qt, two more days until they are done and my qt is available for The clowns.

Those are normal opercula spines for this species, a bit more pronounced than normal perhaps, but not the fish’s gills.
