I have had a single clown in a 20 gallon since Nov. 12 2025, I got a other today and the existing clown seems to twitch, she connected him and put his left fin in her mouth, for safe keeping I through him into a acclimation box any advise is appreciated

How big is the new clown? Females are typically the biggest clown in the tank.

Keep them separated like you have them now and watch for aggression.

the big one is 3 and the other is 1.5 icnehs she seems to twitch but also swims around the box like a shark

Give them a few days to a week and watch them. Any signs of aggression, consider rehoming?

Yeah, establishing a pecking order hopefully. Just keep a watch on them. Sometimes they'll pair no problems, other times they won't pair.
