What other fish do you have and are you planning on getting more?

When I first got my nem, I tried to introduce the clown via a net to it. I managed to catch the male and hold him near it for a bit, but it didn't seem to work or have the desired affect.

Some months later I introduced 3 green chromis and they instantly go more territorial and seek refuge within the tenticles of the nem.

It really depends on the variety of clowns. Some will immediately host a coral or anemone others may after some time, and some never will. You can try adding some chromis in as Ludders suggested, but that didn't work for mine. I ultimately took mine out due to aggression and got another bonded pair that instantly took to my Octospawn corals.

One thing I have seen work is if possible catch them and put them in a separation box for at least a week or two, and re-arrange the tank if possible. This may take two people but using a 2-3" dia. acrylic tube, hold it just over the top of the anemone you want to re-introduce the clowns into. Now one at a time move them from the isolation box or QT tank back to the DT via the tube so they have to swim down the tube and into the anemone you have chosen. You might have to gently pour water in the tube to push them down to the end of it. Once a the bottom the clowns will likely swim right into the anemone and probably stay there.

Another thing I have seen work is if the anemone is on a rock that can be moved easily, get a large strainer or something similar that allows for plenty of water flow. put it up at the top of the tank and put your anemone in that and catch the clowns and put them in there with it. It may take a couple of hours but they may take to it and start hosting. If successful, slowly lower the strainer or box back down and pull the rock with anemone and clowns out and gently place it back where you had it. They may stay in it, or they may not, but at least they got the experience of being in with it and may go back to it or another more readily.
