Collector Urchin

I've recently got a collector urchin. I love him.. He's eating away all my hair algae!
Thing is.. Just wondering if you're meant to keep his collection on him. If you're meant to help him remove it.. How do I?

A brief little bit of info on them would also be well received!! ;)

Oh yea, they will have quite the collection to carry about the tank. And even if you remove it, they will pick up something else. Ya kinda gotta look at them like a decorator crab, they always look different.
