Your correct, to an extent. More goes into it then just the size of the piece which I'm pretty sure we all payed the same price for. With all do respect to Adam and the organizers I would have walked by this priced at $30. From the posts thus far there's clearly not just larger but healthier pieces which in a contest like such means everything.

Hey how's it going, I do agree from your picture yours does look smaller. I know @Troylee reached out to you and I know that he has also reached out to Adam on your behalf.

I just wanted to say that Adam does consider your original size frag compared to the end as well as other factors.

I also wanted to share this post. I won the Bonsai awhile back and if you look at my original frag compared to the 2nd and 3rd place winners you will see that not only that its smaller than the others it also has some STN on the frag as it had a rough trip.

and now I see Adam has just replied lol

anyway have a look at this thread lol

Yeah, I hear you on this and believe me one of the most challenging facets of these contests on my end is leveling the playing field for all the contestants involved.

I could’ve cut 100 one inch frags and you all could’ve had a little dinky things exactly the same size but I went for the chunkiest ones I could get off this piece because it’s a super fast grower. The Poletti was the same way.

And it’s true that the winner is based on overall growth, not the largest colony at the end. The good news like I said, is the collider is a really fast growing coral so once these things start growing in your tanks after a few months it’ll wash out believe me.

Having said that, and I mean this 100%, if anyone of you are completely unhappy with the size of your contest frag please reach out to me and we will work something out I promise.

This is supposed to be fun first and foremost. And I will do everything in my power to make sure that it is for everyone involved.
I certainly understand the impetus to 'cut along the lines' when fragging, just to keep things neat and minimize stress. However, there really needs to be as close to equal a start as possible if you want to have any sort of serious competition. At this point I don't see how you would ever remedy this sort of disparity in starting points and respectfully I don't think I'm going to be participating going forward.

This has already been resolved? Are you not happy with yours either? I’m really sorry you feel that way but I’m pretty sure you’re wrong here and it will be proven over the next year as the under dogs take the gold in these things! We actually got something really fun in store that was already in the works and it’s gonna fit your criteria very well! It will be great to prove this doesn’t matter! As a matter of fact I’ll be right back to show it doesn’t matter… lol

Here’s a grow out I’m currently in with numerous frags and I started with one of the smallest ones and I’m smoking the competition currently 8 months into it! There’s a couple that are battling for 2-3.. but this proves it doesn’t matter where you start it’s where you end! My pics are the last 2…

It most certainly has not been resolved. Did you not see I posted first about the issue? I understand that many other factors come into play after a year of growth.. however, you can't just randomly assign starting points and hope nature and chance sort it out. Everyone needs to start equally or it's a joke of a competition. We aren't even remotely close to starting equally here. There are some massive chunks vs pieces that are a quarter of their size. Starting biomass absolutely matters here. Some entrants are starting with exponentially more cells to divide with. This is silly and you know it.

You’re kidding right? Did you not see the photos I posted above from a current grow out? I started in last place and I’m leading.. I’ll tell you what! I’m gonna cut my collider down to 1/2” and it’s you and me! You win I’ll personally refund you your entrance fee if your theory is correct.. nothing to do with Adam or anyone else.. Just a side bet between us to test this!… I win you owe nothing. 🍻

Edit: I did not see your Initial complaint just quoting another’s post and his was handled.

Bro you came at me like an attack dog for no reason. Not impressed at all with how this has been handled.
