It's not about the size at the start, it's about how you finish.

Your correct, to an extent. More goes into it then just the size of the piece which I'm pretty sure we all payed the same price for. With all do respect to Adam and the organizers I would have walked by this priced at $30. From the posts thus far there's clearly not just larger but healthier pieces which in a contest like such means everything.

I am happy with my 3.
I got 1 encrusted top of the plug.
1 encrusting onto the glue.
1 looks like a fresh cut.
Try taking 20+ frags from a colony and keep them all equal.
This is going to be interesting because these are very fast growing coral.
We will see some small colonies before this one is done.
Most of these growouts have what, 10% of the people left at the end. Just a guess but it's never but a few.
These 3 contests should have many people left at the end.
Going to be fun!
Let's get them frags growing!
My 3.
My hawk says they look good!

These were all cut at the same time.. I don’t think anyone can say one is healthier than the next! Does biomass come into play? Idk I’ve never even thought about it honestly lol.. if you’re not happy shoot me a message and we can straighten it out to your liking.

Yeah that's not how this works. Starting biomass advantage is just about the biggest advantage you can have. I expected far better standards for this competition.
Yeah, I hear you on this and believe me one of the most challenging facets of these contests on my end is leveling the playing field for all the contestants involved.

I could’ve cut 100 one inch frags and you all could’ve had a little dinky things exactly the same size but I went for the chunkiest ones I could get off this piece because it’s a super fast grower. The Poletti was the same way.

And it’s true that the winner is based on overall growth, not the largest colony at the end. The good news like I said, is the collider is a really fast growing coral so once these things start growing in your tanks after a few months it’ll wash out believe me.

Having said that, and I mean this 100%, if anyone of you are completely unhappy with the size of your contest frag please reach out to me and we will work something out I promise.

This is supposed to be fun first and foremost. And I will do everything in my power to make sure that it is for everyone involved.
