is your fish eating anything when you feed? I have my theory that as long as the fishes are eating, they will pull thru...

A video may help if you can take one and post it up. If the fish physically look healthy (no torn fins, no signs of disease, etc) and they are eating, it is likely they are just taking longer than normal to acclimate to the tank, which I am guessing is due to the tankmates. It really sounds like the female is not being allowed to swim around the tank. You do have a couple of fish that are more on the aggressive side. No way for me to say for sure, just speculating of course.
A little late for this, but this why I always suggest QT'ing all new fish, even those known as disease resistant. It gives the new guys a chance to get eating without any competition, and of course no aggression from any other tankmates. Then of course if you find any signs of disease during the QT period, you can easily treat.

You know I have QTed most of my other fish and I sold my QT tank to buy this pair. I had a 29 gallon Cube set up for it.
However, the good news is I decided to go lights out today and she is swimming around the tank and looking a lot better. He's still hovering but has ventured out a lot more today too.

Good news! If you are not done stocking your tank, grab a 10 gallon tank setup. Either from your local club (if you have one) or Petco when they have their $1/gallon sale. You should be able to get a tank, heater, filter, & light for $50 or under.

Okay Marshall, yesterday was a great day! By the end of the day they were both venturing out and really eating. They both slept in the rockwork last night. But here we are back at square one today. The male got up for 15 minutes and has now been in the rocks hiding/sleeping since 7:30 or so. The female hasn't gotten up at all and is on her side with her head sticking out. Her gills are moving at a slow steady pace but neither one of the fish move at all during feedings, of which I've made two today. Sorry to keep pestering. I've just never had fish do this. I turned the lights down but not off (blues at 10%, no full spectrum) today at noon hoping for better conditions.

Didn't see this coming...the male just died! Came flying out of the rock with a white face and his teeth showing out of rotting flesh! I called the store and the owner says he's going to replace both of them which is a blessing. I'll keep you informed as this progresses. I'm glad I purchased them from a reputable source. He's been good to me in the past and it looks like he's going to take care of me now.

That's bad. The reason might have been you didn't know what the fish looked like in the store before your friend got them. They were prolly in really bad shape then and that's why the fish store so quickly said he'll replace them

I don't know...I've never seen anything in the store look bad. This is one of, if not the largest LFS in the Atlanta area. I've actually never heard a bad thing about the guy! I'll certainly reaffirm this as true if he takes care of me this go around. I'll keep you posted.
However, I can say that the fish never acted right from the bag and I did everything in my power to take care of them over the past few days. They were only in the bags for 8 hours.

Sorry to hear this :( Do you have any chance of QT'ing the new fish (I know you said you took it down, just throwing it out there)? If not, at the very least I would keep them in an acclimation box for a few days. Although it wouldn't be a bad idea to have a spare 10 gallon tank around, so you always have a tank to be used for a QT or HT (can be taken down when not needed).

Here's what I've found. The male had a white spot that spread throughout his head. The female had the same white area that surrounded her entire abdomen.
I do wonder if these fish were doomed from the beginning. The LFS assured me he had them in QT for two weeks.

I QT all new fish for 6-8 weeks minimum. More when I need to treat them. If there are no signs of illness, I wait two weeks to get them acclimated and eating in the QT. Then two doses of Prazi-pro (weeks 3 & 4), then 2-4 more weeks to monitor and observe.
