My acan is shifting color from purple to orange on parts of it. Is it due to some kind of neglect or missing care requirement? I’m a newb but it seems healthy otherwise.

Corals change depending on what light it’s under and intensity and parameters etc

this used to be a red and green eyed favia ,

As mentioned above, depending on spectrum and intensity corals can and will change and adapt to absorb the light that's best for them.

Also if you have other acans in the immediate area (touching). I've seen them share zooanthelle, theres a few papers on that i think

But anyways if the coral is still opening and extending, theres nothing to worry about :)
