Combating mold/mildew inside stands

Have any of you had to combat mold/mildew inside your stands? The inside of my stand is coated with Kills but it looks like mildew has started to form across some of the surface area. What should I use to clean/remove it and what dangers does this pose to my tank? Do any of you actively manage humidity?

Hmm how long has the tank been set up? I don't think I have ever had to deal with it. Is it enclosed?

14 months. the back panel is fixed, the left side and front have panels that are removable and held in place with magnetic closures. The right side remains open (faces a wall). I'll snap some pics later tonight for ID.
