Confused berween 2 salinity meter checker

Hello guys, i have this 2 tools salinity meters, 1 digital and 1 manual measurement. So i checked my tank using the digital and it shows 1.023, then i cheked using fluval manual measurement and it shows 1.028, which one should i believe? Im scared my fish/coral would die because the wrong tool that i used. Thankyou

I cannot tell you which one is more accurate because I have not tried either, however, generally speaking, the digital ones should be more accurate, assuming they are of good quality. I highly suggest you get a hanna salinity checker. It is incredibly easy to use and accurate.

Yes. So assuming the real value is either one or in between, I do not think fish will die because of the specific gravity.

That said, they may die for other reasons, or live a long and happy life. :)

Try soaking the mechanical one in some vinegar and then check it again.

You might gain some insight by measuring rodi with each tool. Rodi should read 1.000 sg.
Tap the mechanical hydrometer to remove any air bubbles.

Im using cheap digital checker, its only 15$ thats why i dont know which tools to trust
