Considering making the switch back to t5. I am running gen4 xr15 pro on my IM lagoon 25 and I hate the dead spots on the end. I really don't want to run 2 xr15's so I am thinking about a 4x24w ATI sunpower. Opinions?

Go further and do MH / T5/ LED combo. You will never worry about lighting again. You will disappear from the forum debates on the subject. The only reason I am returning to to this forum subject thread is to proclaim this. After two years switch from top of the line LED (GHL Mitras), four units over a 6 foot tank. Went with Hamilton MH/T5 with a custom blue light strip. Wow. Tank has become amazing. Can grow anything. And fast. SPS is growing to water level line. And wants more growth. Stuff is growing out of control. Soft and LPS - out of control. Literally cannot fit more corals in my tank. MH/T5 is the bomb. LED only is sexy, cool, programmable, but not quite right. I started there, run that on my freshwater tanks, but on reef coral, not quite there.

T5 is great and can produce phenomenal growth without any other supplemental lighting (I run a 6-bulb fixture on my acro-dominant system). The downside though (to some) is less “pop” than leds in the blue spectrum. This is why people run hybrid t5/led setups. I think that 4-bulb would be a great choice as long as you like the appearance of t5.
