Converting Reef ready to Herbie Question

I am setting up a new 135 DT which is a reef ready with 2 corner overflows. I need the system to be 100% silent so from what i know the only way to achieve this is by using a herbie which i am familiar with and have setup a handful. My question is if im going to bring my return line back up over the back of the tank with a 6 foot tank can i get away with just running 1 return line rather than splitting it with a T and running two on each side ? I would rather just run 1 line back up over the middle of the tank and maybe then run a Y locline and point them at both sides?

Pump is a Vectra M should be fine either way i guess just trying to limit the amount of plumbing im going to need while i talk my way through this

I would run two lines for the safety factors. Keeping them separated, if something goes wrong in one the other will be working

You can run one, yes. Your wave makers provide flow.

There are different nozzles/ends/sizes and so on you can play with or aim it to bounce off the glass/rock if it seems like too strong of a jet stream.

im thinking if i run 1 i run a 1" return and not 3/4 tho

i would drill the back of the tank for the returns if i could but its tempered so there goes that idea, i thought about drilling the bottom out and adding another hole in each corner and just run the returns back up through the overflows but im worried about having 3 holes so close to each other

I ran my return over the top on the 80g, I used dark grey pipe for that part and ran it over the overflow and out the cutout it had for the return piping and it wasn’t even really noticeable. I think you can even order black pipe/elbows online.

Like you, it allowed me to run a Herbie and a silent tank.

I used the smaller hole in the overflow as the full siphon and the larger as the trickle/emergency. That way the emergency would be the one that could handle more water if needed. Assuming yours may be similar.

Yes i plan on running the exact same concept turns out the bottom of my tank is also tempered so there will be no drilling on any panel.
