Looks like just under 2.0 but I believe sample should be held slightly above the card rather than sitting on it.
I'll reread the instructions and do so.

I only added enough for .85ppm and I thought the color matched 2ppm as well.

I'll post my math for the community to check [emoji58]

+1 ^^^ hold the test tube a bit above the white card. In bright, white light (go outdoors if the sun is out) Squint your eyes a bit (my wife the artist taught me that one). And remember your tank is actually a bit smaller than the claimed size, especially depending on the equipment, sand, etc. taking up room (gallons).

Correct, a 10g tank actually only holds around 9 gallons of water. The volume is determined off of external dimensions of the tank, not the internal. It's a bit misleading. You also have some equipment and hopefully some form of cover for the fish inside and you don't fill the tank to the brim.

Yes, I knew about the volume ahead of time.

I measure from the bottom to water level and between the glass to get the interior dimensions.

19.9 gallons
1.9ml of Coppersafe per gallon is 1.75ppm
1.9ml x 19.9g = 37.81ml total
I divided by 8 to slowly ramp up so that is 4.72ml per dose (twice daily for 4 days)

I'm at day 2 with a total of 4 doses.

Anything wrong so far?

Going to redo the test now...

Ok, now I'm holding it it looks closer to 1ppm. I'll be careful getting it up to 2ppm. I'm shooting for 1.75 to be safely over 1.5ppm but I can see this may be tricky to nail.

Looks like you have got a good handle on the dosage. Hang in there. Creep up on the last 2 doses. Don't know if it is the hobby grade testing materials, but the last couple of times, I didn't need the very last dose according to the color, but I did the dose anyway, trusting my calculations more than the color test range kit. And then when I tested, after all the dosing, the next day, the color test showed it to be right on. Arrgh. o_O

Dose the full amount into a known 1 gallon of water and then take a picture of the results. This way you can match your future tests to the reference picture. Hard part is getting consistent lighting conditions for the pictures. I did it this way because Copper Power is 2.5ppm and there is no freaking way to tell what 2.5ppm is on an ATI Cooper test kit.

I'm beginning to wonder if they changed the concentration of coppersafe. I've dosed my 40 up to what should be 1.75 and my readings look like 4.0 something is wack. I'm about done with copper safe and thinking about purchasing copper power. I don't know for sure but it's concerning.

Let us know what you find out. I may have more fish coming in once these guys and gals are out of QT.

I sent an email to the mfg last night requesting more information about their product, where to buy, etc. I will dedicate one small QT to testing Copper Power out, see how it compares to using Coppersafe in another QT.

Very interested to hear results. Also interested to see if it is easier on the fish as they claim!
