Cor-15 or Vectra M2

Just wanting thoughts of replacing my current Vectra S2 (which is on its way out) with either a COR-15 or Vectra M2.
I run an Apex and my current system is a 90G,
I am planning to upgrade to a 120G before the end of the year.

I do like the battery backup hooked up to the Vectra as piece of mind and this has me leaning towards the M2.
I also like having the one brand hence getting a Cor to go with the Neptune gear but I still don’t know what’s the best option.

BTW these 2 pumps are the only ones I’m interested in.

It sounds like the batter backup is of interest so that gives it an edge. Of course the question comes down to how long that last for and if there is any automation control that could lower the power to make it last longer. Also the Vectra has built in flow patterns although not sure if that is for closed loop or open with return.

The MXM module would also allow Apex control if you want it. The Cor 15 is a nice pump. I run two. One for my skimmer and one for a secondary return. My main return uses the 20 which is powered outside of the Apex in case I experience a EB832 issue for safety.

Both are reasonable. I've not compared specs between them. If you want that backup then it sounds like you would want the M2.

Fair point about how long it'll last, from memory when the backup kicks in the return drops to a max 20%.

With the specs the M2 is 2000 gph and the Cor is 1500 gph.

The Cor 15 and 20 are basically the same with the except of the Cor 20 using an additional power supply which gives it the 2000 gph although I have never measured it to verify. Also not sure how they cost compare between all three. You are going about it the right way. Just need to see which one will do what you want and fit in the current system without any major replumbing.

My brother in law is an electrician and fits these all the time in hospitals, they replace them every 12 months so I get them for free after that! :-)

I think I'm going to go with a Cor pump and sort out a UPS as I've been meaning to do this for a couple years, but since I had a vectra I just went with the BB which is basically just a small car battery anyway.

With your Apex, having the Cor pump will unlock a lot more monitoring items also from what i understand.

No, I didn’t miss what they said that’s just a better pump. They won’t have any problems with the controllers. i’ve had both of the pumps above. I will never run a. Dc return pump.

Yeah for about 5x the cost. Too rich for me. My sicce been running 5 years no issues. Abyzz are good pumps too.

I ended up picking up a Cor-15 today but I’m not sure if it’s setup correctly. I followed the instructions and it seems to run fine, but I’m a bit confused about the schedule. This is what it looks like.

I would build a battery backup vs using a UPC. You will have a lot more flexibility. The key components are the battery, a charger for the battery and an inverter with a transfer switch (this is key for uninterrupted power(

I don’t understand the min and max speeds, and with the schedule time does that mean it’ll turn off for 1 minute between 23:59 and 00:00
