I have coral algae growing everywhere in my tank... If I can grow coral algae could I support SPS? I am new to the hobby I have been timid to start SPS because I know they can be really picky at times.. I have the coralife pro light fixture with halides.. I only have a few soft corals in right now so I'm only running my halides for 3 1/2 hrs a day.. What is a good light cycle for LPS/SPS coral? Thanks

To help you we need to have specific numbers, such as alkalinity, calcium, magnesium, temp, salinity, nitrates, etc. Once we can take a look at those we can help!

Well i hate to tell ya,but if your wanting to get into sps throw them api test kits out and get a hanna for phospahtes and red sea kit for Cal/mag/alk/nitrate

there more expensive but more accurate,I always though my phosphates were 0.25 using the color chart but its really hard to tell, then i got the hanna and saw it was really .50 now with hanna im always below .03.,I would first get all the equipment b4 getting any sps ..I would hate for you to spend alot of frags/colonies only to see they will not make it..also u need phosphates below .05 imo
