What is everyone's go to dip and process for corals? Do you dip and quarantine, or straight in the display?

I'll be the first to answer.... always dip. Proof can be found on my reef tank log. I have been struggling with pests for over a year now and I was careful. I would say KCL 2 to 4 tablespoons per gallon and iodine eliminate a good portion of things. Deoble and tripple wash after. Always qt before adding to main tank if possible . For those really bad outbreaks exodus has worked well. Half strength for reg dip and full strength for stubborn stuff. May take more than one dip to resolve the issues. If you can qt weekly dips for 12 weeks are great!

For me I've Bayer dipped all my coral (LPS & SPS), including smooth skin acro and mushrooms, with success. Clip off plug, Bayer dip, rinse with tankwater, do a second soak with tankwater (to let any bayer solution get purged), blast with syringe, scrub, final rinse, on a new plug, and into the tank.

I caught a problem early on because I neglected to scrub stony part of a frogspawn that had some flatworm eggs. Caught it quickly. Scrubbing more diligently now, including plug if i have to leave it on.

I'm intrigued by the hydrogen peroxide flush to remove potential problem algae. Need to do more research. I intro'd bryopsis into the tank on a frag and that took forever to get rid of. I also have caluerpa which I'm pretty sure I'll never be rid of.

I agree with @robanister! Always dip! I get ALL of my corals from a friend of mine, and I still dip. I use Tropic Marin Coral clean. I follow the instructions.

So far has worked well for me.

Following the instructions here for Bayer:

Visual inspection, Ten minutes in coral rx, i swirl the water around via gloved hand. Then a thorough rinse in separate saltwater, then into tank.
