Hello,
Two days ago I saw that my purple-metallic montipora colony started losing tissue. Yesterday my colony was dead. Tissue was turning into brown jelly at night and at the morning skeleton was white. Day before montipora started daying, I lost Acropora frag which i decided to move after one year. The frag was fine, it was slowly growing. What suprised me the most was the fact that on this montipora colony I put frag of it which stayed totally fine until this morning when i saw brown jelly on one part of it. I have two additional frags of this monti in my tank and they are in pretty good condition.

Today I looked at brown jelly tissue under microscope and I saw huge amount of some parasite. What species they are? Did they killed my coral or they're only eating the rest of it? If they aren't guilty, who/what is? I have my tank for 4 years but I've never experienced that bizarre death.

Thanks for the answer. I was thinking about rtn too. From your experience what can I do to avoid spreading it to other corals?
