Can someone please help me out with the ID of this coral? It was a freebie from a shop.

Pulsating xenia. They grow like weeds. It's a great beginner coral, but can be very aggressive and need to be maintained or isolated.

xenia just make sure you isolate them or they will eventually cover your tank and cover-up your more prized corals.

What the people above said ^^ I keep mine in island isolated and from time to time I have to catch some stray ones that try to go on the rocks
