Coral identity please.

My husband brought home a very pretty Coral but cannot remember the species or identity. I have tried taking picture and use. Goggle Pictures to find it but I can’t seem too. Want to know exactly what we have of course. Thank you. We are obviously newbies, and have lots to learn but enjoying the wonder of it all. Thank you!

I have had this for many years. Very hearty. And they will eat mysis and flake food, and they will grow. Be extremely cautious handling this coral. It creates a deadly neurotoxin called palytoxin. I suggest you read about it. Whenever handling the coral be sure to wear gloves to be safe. The palytoxin is inside the coral, and can get out of if your fingernail scraps it, or it gets scraped from rocks, or anything sharp enough cuts it. Fragging it is risky also. Basically find a place for it and just leave it, and if you ever need to handle it, use gloves and throw them away. If you feed it, it will get big

How often do you feed yours?

I broadcast food (powder coral foods and Mysis flake) mixed in a cup of saltwater. It always ends up catching some. Not all polyps but some. I do this 2-3x a week.

But it doesn’t need food, light alone is fine. But I’d you want it to grow fast…feed it a few times a week. Mine likes both of these

It was 8 heads Feb 2021 when I got it and now it’s over 50 large heads and almost 8” wide colony
