The goni shot is one of my favorites too.

I was highly annoyed when I put the torch to it and saw it closed up. It was still partially extended when I went to get a photo but I kicked up detritus and it forced a feeding reaction.

If you black out your room the tank is in and turn off the lights, the corals all should still be open so you can quickly take some shots of them open. Maybe you could try that?

The temptation to do a short blackout tomorrow and get some photos is high, especially if I can get a fully extended UV photo of that Goni.

Definitely… now the question do I do it… I could get some nice shots of the coral and single shots too.

On a side note, this guy is extended, and yet it’s nighttime!
