Coral placement

I have a flat spot right there on the rock under where the GSP is. Id like to put a hammer there but i dont want anything stinging the birdsnest to the right. I like where the birds nest is so I don’t want to move it. You guys think a hammer would be ok? If not then what would you suggest putting there?

Quick question first, is the plan for the GSP to carpet over the back wall of the aquarium?
