Coral RX (Acros)

Hello!

My normal dip process is 8 minutes in Coral RX --> 10 minutes in Bayer (25-30ml/cup) --> (2) rounds of 10 minute clean water baths.

I've never lost a coral to dipping, but I've started to read posts stating that dips like Coral RX hamper growth for months. I understand Coral RX is not nearly as soft as Bayer, but can Bayer ALSO kill the other pests Coral RX claims to kill?

I like Bayer better, but only when I am sure that there are no pests. I use so much that you cannot see into it at all, so I do not like it if I need to look for pest. It also is incredibly gentle on things without nervous systems, including smooth skinned acropora that can be harmed by CoralRx or Revive or the like. Bayer does not seem to affect the corals at all. Sometimes, I use as much as 20% bayer if I have suspect corals - I warm it up first so that it does not make the temp go too low.

I do use CoralRx when I want to see if anything comes off of the plugs. CoralRx can stress some corals, but I have never had it kill anything - others have. I have even dipped Hawkins and Dragons in CoralRx without any death, but they do not seem to like it and it does seem to need a week to get back to growing. Most other non-smooth skinned acropora that I dip just seem to get along with life pretty quickly.

I have a QT and frag tank, so I only do one or the other... I can treat again if I need to.

what portion of bayer to water are you using ?
