Third thread or the day sorry. I did one like this a couple years ago and it was pretty fun. Basically just design my tank for me, in particular what corals do you think would look good in here?

Inhabitants currently:
3 conchs
Snails
Xenia colony
1 pencil urchin which i watch intently
2 clowns
1 pj cardinal.

I don’t believe that light is very powerful so stick with dome softies like you have. Maybe GSP, easy mushrooms or a toadstool leather.

I’d try those first. I don’t think you have enough light for LPS.

Clownfish and Xenia looks good! Enjoy!

Thats funny you said those corals those were the ones i wanted. Dont trust myself to take care of lps and harder ones. I also have a more powerful light that i will use when my new lid arrives.

With a more powerful light try Acans or branching hammers/frogspawn

Also Zoas with either light. If successful with the softies and a light upgrade, try some lps

Sick, have you had any problems with switching corals to different lighting like i was saying?

Yes and no. Softies and LPS I’ve had no problem. Only problem I ever had was when I replaced one of my lights. It was the same light but new version 5 watts more power. It bleached my large montipora that was up high in the tank. It’s mostly come back but it killed about 3/4s of it.

It was a bummer I grew it from a quarter size frag to about 15” diameter and it mostly was lost. The edges remained and are growing back to the center which has been good to watch.

If it’s a huge change in lighting you can ramp it up over a week or so. Get them used to it. Start at like .60% and move up a little each day for a week or so.
