Coral thoughts?

Starting a coral sale beginning the 1st of the year. Thoughts on my pictures??

As a purchaser of coral I like to see them under white light but most people purchase on what they look like under blue light. So maybe a picture of both.
Also, I would prefer pictures close up of individual corals that are for sale, not a distant picture of a frag rack with corals.

First thing I’d do;
Photos under both blue and white light (if you use a filter, always say that - cover your back if anyone comes back and says it doesn’t look identical to the photo with every single colour being spot on). Use editing if it’s a must but keep it as close to reality.
Here’s just some photos I’ve gotten both in the LFS and at home, all have some editing done but they are still as close as I can get to them looking like they do/would in person.

Another thing, with coral so many people want top down rather than side on photos. This can be a nightmare so I recommend using a coral viewer to manage it.
Also, if you want to compete with the market - ID the name (Scientific - use Genus names at least, and Retail names).
And finally, good luck! Those corals and trays look gorgeous :)

Thats in the coral tray at my LFS, he truly is gorgeous but because its blue light we dont see him like that often

Also, just thought I’d use some examples from my own tank as to what I mean by keeping it as close as possible to reality but also using both blue and white photos. The first 2 photos of each are edited however the last photo of each is just an iPhone with a filter but my lights are on a lower intensity :)

Candy Cane;

Jellybean Chalice;

As you can see, in almost all of those photos I’ve under-edited them. This will likely result in a much happier customer if they get a better coral colour than photographed (even if it’s the same exact coral).

tubbs blue! I just picked up a frag of them. Yea, nice easy starter corals but not anything that would demand a high price tag.
