Yeah, I would worry about eliminating some of your algae in the tank while you’re seeding with scrapings.

Get a sea hare and clean up the algae.
I always get the green on the back and scrape it off until coralline shows.
You have coralline in the system from the pics so no need to add it. It does appear to be smotherimg the coralline on the rocks though.

I think that is coralline on the back wall
