Hello, my tank is four months old. It went through brown diatom stage for the last month and now transitioning to green diatom stage. I also see coralline starting to encrust on some of my rocks.

should I brush and siphon the green diatoms on my rocks to help the coralline?

my parameters are:
Temp: 78.5F
Salinity: 34.5ppt
Kh: 8.9dkh
Cal: 440ppm
Mag: 1410ppm
No3: 6.5ppm
Po4: 0.13ppm

Coraline takes the longest to grow. I'd just keep doing as you've been doing. Eventually you will be tired of dealing with it instead of excited to see it.

4 months. tank should be starting to stabilize. Have you had issues with GHA yet?

I would just let the tank mature naturally. Add some CUC members along the way to make the tank look a little nicer, but it will naturally clear up over the next couple of months.

No green hair algae so far. I did have either cyano/ dino two weeks ago because my nitrates bottomed out (no3: 0.0ppm and po4: 0.03ppm). Starting last week I dosed brightwell neonitro and got my nitrates back up. I’m not sure how phosphate went up as well, but 0.13ppm is okay I guess.
