I have a box of corals coming tomorrow, the vender has already shipped them this morning early AM. I won’t be home til midnight or later the day they arrive so I suspect they will be bagged for or near 48 hours. It’s coming from a super high regarded company, top tear care.
Would this concern anyone? I don’t typically get to concerned but obviously they are expensive livestock.
Should I have my family put the box in my fish room? It’s heated to about 77 degrees

Shipped or label created?
Shipped unfortunately. I guess I’m used to company’s shipping mid or end of day for next day air.

I’d rather not have my wife have to un bag 10 corals, we have 4 kids she’s obviously busy. I’m thinking that as long as I get them out when I get home 2 days isn’t extreme. Especially coming from being aquarium conditioned

I would have her put them in your fish room.

So long as the temps are good, they should be fine so yeah bringing them inside to a nice toasty room would be ideal. I've kept corals in baggies for the duration of a convention weekend, and just made sure they had a nice heating pack in the coral cooler and all of them came out the other end without issue.

It’s some euphylia and easy sps like birdsnests , Pavona, cyphastreas. Easy encrusters mostly. Nothing like a sensitive tenuis

You need to have family at least remove heat pack from box, it will overheat in that room especially since most use 40 hour heat packs. I

Just have her bring the box in and open it and float them.
Wouldn't take that long.

I was a little concerned about that, my last order sat in the room for maybe 8 hours before I got to it with no problems but obviously there’s no guarantee

Ok. Again I don’t typically worry but I hit the free shipping threshold which for me is a big purchase supporting a family of 6 lol.

I assume imported specimens get moved around the world in not necessarily the fastest timeframe and do ok, I don’t think this is too extreme of a duration

I would be a little concerned especially depending on weather. I would think they should be okay, but 48 hours is a long time. If you really can’t get them in tank earlier not sure on any other ideas. Pray that their okay

I am concerned. Thankfully there isn’t any temperature extreme it’s still early in the season

Where are they coming from? Ideally if you can get them floated and just unbagged and put in tank that’s best case scenario. Then dip when you get home. Would only take 15 min total but if no time then your kinda stuck

It’s probably fine but even after the counsel of R2R I might have my oldest un bag them and place in a bucket of water with some circulation

The corals are somewhat protected from the outside temperature by the box they are in this means with in reason. Knowing TG and their packaging they will most likely have heat packs. I dont know what its been like in Washinton but around here temps have been crazy lows at night dropping rapidly into the 20s-30s days can be anywhere from 50-30. If you are worried about the fish room being 77 with heat packs in the box just have someone bring them inside, I am guessing the rest of the house isnt 77. It will take some hours before the ambient temp of whatever room they are in starts to effect the inside temp of the insulated box.
