Edit: I did get an email asking for photos under blue light with orange filter. I sent those last night. Will update if there is anymore action.

I recently had a Facebook ad for Corals4u and saw some very beautiful sps frags on his 50% off sale. I bought 4 frags. These were stunning multicolored Acros based n the photos. I live locally and arranged local pickup for a two hour window this past Tuesday. When I arrived at his townhome, no one was answering the door. I waited a bit and knocked on the cracked open garage door where I could tell the aquariums are. I ended up getting an email back that he needed 15 minutes to bag up my items. So I waited. He apologized for the miscommunication and that I had to wait and gave me a free frag. The same gave me a free frag too so I ended up with 6 frags total. He left them in a box by the front door. I never saw anyone in person but that’s ok.

I immediately looked at the freshly bagged frags and did not like what I saw. Several looked bleached and they all looked dull but hey they are bagged up.

I took them home acclimated them and did a brief iodine dip and noticed no pests. Placed them in the aquarium where they really looked no better. 36 hours later it was very clear that three were dead, two were fine but very dull brown nothing like the photos, and one was similar to the photos.

I immediately emailed him asking about how we can get some replaced with his 72 hour guarantee. Now this is a very short guarantee designed to never give a replacement but these frags dude right away or maybe we’re on deaths door when packaged.

I have a very successful mixed reef and know what I’m doing with acclimation, etc. also my water was perfect per my trident and Hannah’s and ICP test two weeks ago.

Below is the email that was sent. As you might gather from this, I got no response.

Hi,

Unfortunately, three of the pieces I bought from you looked pretty faded right off the bat, and totally bleached out the bag. They are goners. One piece is slice but very dull, I imagine I can get it to color back up in time, and two other pieces look good.

I was hoping we could talk about a couple replacements. Sending photos of the dead ones and photos of the good ones. Nothing was labeled so I’m not sure what is what, but maybe you can tell from the pictures.

Thanks,

Attached are photos of what I received. These were taken approximately 48 hours after pickup.

The photos on the website I believe are oversaturated, and/or not wysiwyg.

I emailed again today and again have received no response.

Buyer beware. I won’t be going back.

Update: he thinks the corals look ok but not happy. Wants additional photos. I asked him what he’s looking for? There are not going to be any colors on white skeletons.

Said maybe they need a new location. Also asked for my alkalinity sent my apex screenshot and tank photos.

Update:

I have received a response saying he has replacement corals ready for me. I am scheduling pickup and will update with photos once I have them. It took a minute, but happy he is standing behind his product.

Unfortunately I too experience a bad transaction with coral4u now called reef jase. First order back in March everything was lost after a few weeks. Got store credit of 300 dollars and wanted to use it early this month. Got my order but half of the sps frags were not what I had order. After several emails asking for photos and more photos telling him that 4 frags out of 8 were not what i has ask for, I got crickets.

I just lost hope and wanted to tell me story. Please think twice before ordering, you probably will not get what you paid for.

I purchased a few mille frags from them recently. While they were not nearly as vibrant as they were displayed on the website, they were in good shape with fully extended polyps while in the bag, with the exception of one. I'm about two weeks in with them and they're still doing fine. Again, they're color is very dull compared to what was displayed on the site. My guess is that the images are captured and enhanced immediately after fragging from a different system, then they dull and lose some vibrance before being sold. I have confidence that they'll color up once they start growing...

Pics below are under full blue XR30 pros through a yellow filter. Snapped a full tank pic for reference.

Thank you for your review. I also bought something from reef jase and it seems like the same owner. More research tells me he's been scamming people for years now.
