Currently running a core 20 as my return pump looking to ad a standalone manifold for gfo carbon possible refugium down the line. Was looking at a core 15 I know it’s overkill. Was thinking it would be a great back up return if the 20 ever goes down also could switch it over when cleaning the core 20. Just not sure if I would be able to dial the 15 down low enough for just carbon and gfo. Any thoughts

You can dial the COR down to a trickle but I think it would be overkill to run one for reactors alone. I would run a manifold on the current setup and just get another 20 as a spare. It is always wise to have a spare main pump since they give little to no warning when they decide to fail.
