Hi, I've been running the Original Base Elementz for the past 6 months and have really enjoyed the simplicity. I need to purchase another set but I see that at Unique Corals, the original Base Elementz are sold out. Are you suggesting to customers to switch to the Core7?

If that is the case, I'm unsure if I need the regular Core7 or the Core7 Reef Supplements.

I have a good algae bed but not the 10-20% as required by Triton. My tank is doing well with the current regimen which I was hoping to continue unless Triton suggests Core7. I understand that the Core7 has more algae growing supplements, whereas the Core7 Reef Supplements does not.

Please provide any feedback.

Thank you
Chris

Reef Supplements are for non-Triton tanks, if you are following the Triton method then you need Core7 Base Elements.

So would the Core7 Elements be equal to the original Base Elementz?

yes. I'm unsure why they are getting away from mixing with RO. They are saying as it is its 7 times more concentrated than when you mixed the previous version. Well you only mixed the previous version with 9l so anyway instead of completely revamping my dosers I just mixed these new supplements with 7l of rodi each. Should be about the same unless I'm confusing something.

Why they always gotta fix things that aren't broken I'll never understand.

The solutions are a completely different composition than the original Base Elementz, more like an evolution, they are refined and more stable and also run at a more favourable pH of 8.2-8.3. They are also easier to use, require less space, and are a step in the right direction to us providing a more sustainable product.

So would the Core7 Elements be equal to the original Base Elementz?

As has been said, Base Elements for Triton Method, Reef Supplements for Other methods.

Thanks Tim. I guess the question is whether or not I'm truly running the Triton method. I have a fuge, but it is likely only 8 gallons out of 140 total, so definitely less than 10%.

How do you define Triton Method? The current / original Base Elementz are doing great and I would like to keep going, and I would rather not add a lot of additional algae components to the mix.

The Core7 Base Elements have the same amount of "pro macro algae" elements as the original Base Elements, the Reef Supplements Core7 have reduced amounts.
