I could use some thoughts on some issues I am having recently. I will start with my parameters
Alk 8.0 always steady. no more than .5 each week. Really its .2 daily the .5 in a week might be a stretch but leaves room for errors on my end via testing. Tested through trident and Hanna checker.
Cal = 440
Mg = 1500 - 1550 (trident and salifert tests confirm this range)
Salinity = 1.025 (Hanna)
Nitrates = 35 - 40 ppm (Hanna HR)
Phosphates = 0.03 ppm (Hanna ULR)
Temperature = rock solid at 78 with .4 swings at most
75 g tank - trigger platinum 34 sump - RSK 300 skimmer - fuge running cheato - TONS of bio filter media
I am having an issue with some SPS corals like Monti's growing some algae. It's a small amount on some recently purchased frags, birdsnest and stylos are fine from same purchase but other encrusting corals are not happy. One Monti bleaching a little around the edges, other has small algae growth in the middle, Cyphastrea is losing some skin, pavona is bleaching or looking pale.
What should I be looking at, that can cause this? I use tropic Marin pro reef salt. Not Turkish box's, weekly or daily water changes totaling 15-20 % weekly. I will post some pictures of the tank in a moment, and pictures of the corals when I am back in front of the tank. I really would appreciate any 2 cents anyone is willing to offer.
Thanks,
