Hi guys,

Just recently joined the forum from the UK,

Tank has been running 3 and half years now with my collection. Its far from perfect, its had its ups and downs but heres a description of the blood, sweat and tears in this tank, and hopefully one day it will be where i want it to be and who knows one day BRStv or Reefbuilders :)

4 x 2 x 2 AC aquatics tank with optiwhite front panel.
4 x 1.5 x1.5 Refugium with 25% algae bed chamber (Triton)
STC Temp controller with 2 x 300w titanium heaters

The current tank method is the classic German style Balling method, due to high comsumption i am planning to switch to a more reliable Calcium reactor setup, when i learn about them bit more.

I will update this thread as i go along for you guys to see, all comments are welcome I'm sure i can learn a lot of knowledge from you,

What have you been using for nutrient export so far then, the tank looks clean and good, but what are the nitrate and phosphates running at ?

A crap algae bed that’s never functioned properly, up to this point I think the constant use of gfo and the amount of rock in the tank has helped,

Here’s what it looked like a couple of days ago before the clean

I have fresh cheato coming today, I have complete cleaned the algae bed, changing the light to a cfl bulb 140watt and 6200k running reverse cycle.

Readings last night were nitrate 2.5ppm phos 0.012ppm but I have been dosing nopox
