Craziest cycle I’ve ever had

So I have had the strangest saltwater cycle. And I’ve cycled a few. I used bottled bacteria and Dr.tims ammonia brought it to 2.0 ppm. It sat like that for a while probably almost 2 weeks then it started going down saw it at 1.0. Then I started having nitrates. Still never added anymore ammonia. I think I had some die off on some rock keeping ammonia going. I’m at a month now. Decided to do a 20 gallon water change. (75 gallon aquarium) tested and ammonia, nitrite and nitrate all 0.. I never saw nitrate. I’m so confused I’ve got lots of algae growing so the tank is maturing. I’m sure I’m okay to add a pair of clowns

You are ok for the clowns days ago if not last week.

Rock, saltwater, sand, heat and flow plus bacteria, wait 5-7 days, add fish.
