First off I would like to say this tank has currently hit its 1year mark.
I have been keeping fish most of my life but this is my first saltwater aquarium

Day 1

Finally broke down and picked up a tank. For $40 I couldn't say no
Standard 40 breeder from petcos $1 per gallon sale.

Almost done with my DIY stand
Not bad for my first attempt at wood working.

Dry rock curing in the garage in an old 20 long

Had a LFS help with the drilling. I wanted so badly to do it myself but I just wasn't comfortable working with glass.

Also wanted to add I tried to do this as cheap as possible. Just to see if I could lol

Picked up a used wet/dry (originally a fish only system) got me by for a few months and only cost me $20.

Tank/stand DONE!
Light is a zoomed 2bulb 36in t5
420 actinic, 10k coral sun
Picked up off amazon delivered $55 NEW!

Sand and rock is in!!

My first fish, still regret it to this day
I have been actively trying to catch him for 3 months. Traps, nets, no luck without ripping my tank apart

There is a black box I siliconed over the bulkhead drains FYI. Also Added lockline to the returns

Picked up to clownfish and a CONDY from world wide corals in Orlando.
Flushed the Condy a week later. Never again...live and learn

A few new friends

Found a sunlight supply 36in 4 bulb tech light on Craigslist. $100!!! Best upgrade ever. Time for some corals!

Nice colony of green shrooms.
The cleaner shrimp molted in the bag while I was acclimating. Lol still alive and thriving 7 months later

Bubble magus NAC6 $200 cash from my boy Steven at Reefers Direct Aquatics. The change in my corals was unbelievable!! So much happier!!

A friend shut down his biocube. 3 heads of frogspawn. 1 head of hammer. Bubble coral and green Polops all for fee

Tank is currently running with no powerheads in the display, my mag7 return split to 2 heads gives me plenty of flow. Calcium 430, ALK 9.5

SPS is growing well and everything is looking beautiful!

These guys came with the coral from my friends biocube. I couldn't separate them from there home so I moved my clowns down to the refugium
