Have you had a chance to use it yet?
Hi. Yes. I’ve dosed it a few times already. I wanted to give it a good shot before I gave my opinion.

It’s the only coral food I’ve been occasionally feeding in the past week. I’ve fed it about 3-4 times since I’ve got it. I’ve noticed a better response with each time I’ve used it.

It’s a decent food. I’ll admit that I tend to get a better reaction with frozen mysis, but the V3 seems like a good food.

That’s my experience thus far. :)

Here’s one of my acros feeding on the V3. I see a good response on one of my Goniopora, too.

I shake it up with saltwater and I broadcast feed it with my return pumps off, but my powerheads on.

I’ll be sure to update in the future. :)

Out of curiosity does the concoction help raise nutrients or lower them? Im currently having a hard time keeping my nutrients from bottoming out and I’ve been having to dose no3/po4. I’d much rather feed the tank more to raise nutrients.

In my experience, it provides a short term boost in nutrients as it is dosed. Depending on the bioload in your system you may see nutrient values decrease or increase over time. If you notice a substantial increase then most likely you are over feeding. If you notice a bump and then a gradual decrease then it indicates that your system is processing the food and you’ve dosed enough.
Ideally for sps you want to be adding a large quantity of food while being able to measure minimal levels of excess nutrients.

I’m not familiar with the plank, the V3 is a very dense paste and is not a powder. People have hooked up dosing pumps to a predissolved solution of the V3 and used their dosing setups to continually dose the concoction throughout the day for good effect.

To play devils advocate for the circle jerk echo chamber:

Any danger of providing any microbiome testing of the concoction? You're culturing a lot of bottled microbes in high nutrient, semi sterile conditions. Perfect growth conditions for all kinds of nasties.

Considering most people don't know what is in the bacterial bottles, this seems like it could be a recipe for disaster long term
