Hello

I have 2 of the current 3100 gph return pumps on my 240, and they are amazing. They come with the dc control that is manual, but if you link them into the Bluetooth controller now, you can set them on a schedule. I’m running mine maybe at 20% and it’s way more than I need for flow.

Not to mention, they are dead silent and currents warrant and customer service is beyond amazing.

From reading some of the posts I would love to see how people have their systems set up that have issues. I have been beta testing most of currents items on a large scale. With that being mentioned, none of my stuff hasn’t every been faulty, not worked properly, or anything. The manifold hub covers do nothing except keep water out. My hubs that run all the time never even get warm ever.

As with anything there are going to be some that are faulty with any company. It doesn’t matter how good or new they are it happens. I run everything current on my 240 gallon tank, and have had zero issues. In doing volunteer work for my local aquariums, I have seen more issues with varios pumps and Ecotech pumps then currents.

With that being said, could there be items from current that can go bad or faulty, of course. But, the number of good ones, is the same as varios, and Ecotech, they all have manufactured defects. Not to mention, if they are hooked up wrong, for any of them will cause problems. Everybody has steered me clear of current except my lfs. Which I have always trusted the most, and I’m glad I have. My system has been going for over 6 months now, and not one single issue. Yet I have helped friends, who have used varios, Ecotech, and others who have had issues, and some have had no issues like me. With everything being said, can any of us say who is better or worse, no not really. It’s more of a gamble than anything, in honesty do you think any company wants to produce bad products and go out of business?
That's great to hear.

My tank is still cycling but am quite happy with the lights and wave pumps. Pumps definitely are dead silent

I'm running two 1050s in gyre flow pattern in my 75

How are you liking the Bluetooth control ?

Seems more contrilability than the loop remote?

I'm considering adding the Bluetooth module in hopes of adding a 3rd IC and run it independently, of the main 2, as an auxiliary

Hello,

I like it a lot more but it was very hard for me. It was hard because this is th first time I have used a smart phone and apps. The controller, and systems etc are super easy, but you need a smart phone to run them. I have always used an old basic flip phone, so learning the phone, where to go was hard in that sense. But once I learned how the Bluetooth controller from the phone has quite a bit more control then the remote. I’m still in the habit of using the remote, but the Bluetooth does a lot that the remote does not. It’s definitely a bonus for control of your system.

Hello,

You can run more lights and more pumps, on them, you just have to configure it differently. It took me awhile to actually figure it out. However, Current was able to figure it out also for me. I can send or post the pics they sent me, and what I have done as well. FYI I still haven’t put everything on yet since that pic. I only have half of my equipment plugged into it. I have been just swamped with everything else at the moment.

I did send them an email asking if I could run the extra light as an auxiliary on a separate schedule and they said no. That's kind of a bummer

You could run a dual Bluetooth system like I have considered. You would be able to run four lights if needed to, and even more stuff. They would have their own separate Bluetooth link but they suggested that with me as well.

The two return pumps I use definitely meet the gph and head height. They are the 3100 dc gph, when I beta tested the Ecotech return pumps, the currents performed much better. How have you come to these conclusions, and or how did you have it set up?

Awesome! Thanks for update. This is kind of data we need when people are researching dc pumps. Great thread. I went with ecotech. So far a so good. Fingers crossed. Have a different spare on hand just in case.

Any one use one off this vhot you think CURRENT USA - EFLUX LOOP DC FLOW RETURN PUMP any experience .
Bought one off Amazon.
Tested it for 2 days. Seemed ok, but definitely had a whine. Shut it off for a couple days, then decided to do another test and it wouldn't start up.
Sent it back to Amazon, and bought a Reef Octopus VarioS-4.

Hello,

So far both my dc pumps have been doing great and I have not cleaned them since day one which is roughly 16 months old now and not a single whine hicup, and still silent.

Going on 2 1/2 years now without cleaning it and running it 50-100% on and off - no issues what so ever. It’s silent also - can’t hear it at all in my living room.

Have mine running for close to a year now. No issue so far. It ran stay one time because my ATO top off malfunctioned. But still working good. Trying to get another one during Black Friday as a backup.

It must be the controller then or open it back up and look at the magnet see if there is a discolored area and see if it kinda feels rough mine did this and it seems like from running so long then stopped the temp change had some effect of the magnet I used a fine nail file and cleaned it up the stuff came off and it’s running fine since I have always got about 700 gph according to my apex from it and I have had this pump for several years and it is still going strong

I just got my eFlux return pump and wave pumps in a couple days ago, has anyone else had success with feed mode? It works on the wave pumps and the manual for the return pump says it should work when connected to the wave pump hub, but when I press feed it only turns the wave pumps down. Additionally if I have the aquabus wire from one hub to the next in the wrong spot, the IR remote doesn’t work at all. Haven’t called Current yet due to the holidays yet, but anyone else having this issue/ any solutions?
