Cutting down the noise between the wall?

I saw the other Noise dampening topic and it reminded me of my question.

My sump and all the equipment are behind the wall. The only thing between the tank and the equipment is the drywall. I would like to cut down on the noise that come through to the tank side. What can i use that is not going to cost me a fortune?

Could you fit acoustic foam behind the tank between the studs?

Do you have any room between the equipment and the wall? Is so you can always go to home depot or lowes, get a sheet of drywall and may the wall thicker. That would help. If you have enough room and just a little bit of skills with workig with your hads. Get some 2x4s, a sheet of drywall, and some insulation. Build a frame to screw the drywall to, place it up against the origanl wall and but the insulation between the old wall and the new wall. That will defently cut the noise down.

No room between that sump and main tank. The stand for the sump is up against the studs. It could be down with alot of cuts but seems like a ton of work. :)

yeah i would go with the foam between the studs. that would be a lot easier.
