So I was beginning to think I had a fever dream about reading that people cut sweeper tentacles of some of the more aggressive LPS but I finally found a few comments about it.

Is this an option? I don't have an issue with sweepers at this point but I do have chalice and a bubble coral so I know it'll become an issue at some point. What are people's view on this? Is it really that simple? Does this negatively impact the coral?

I've read of it being done by a vendor (cant remember who) to pectinia. Its not something I would ever think about doing. As mentioned I would be a afraid of an infection. I just stock accordingly and give them the space they require.
sweepers aren't really that bad :face-with-tears-of-joy:

It just doesn't even sound like a good thing to do to me. That's whatever critter it is natural state.

Give it room, or relocate it. Don't butcher it, which is what I feel like this would be.

I find it interesting that since I moved it into a tank with all sps except the rainbow pectinia it rarely extends any sweeper. The sweepers definatly seem to be meant for other LPS.

It is quite possible that an injury like this would allow the introduction of an infection like BJD.
