Any help is appreciated. Need to know if this is cyano or Dino if possible by eye-balling it.

Up front I would not like to get into the nuts and bolts of buying microscopes and taking samples and getting all microbiologist.

Hoping there’s an easier solution.

It doesn’t appear to be a strain that is harmful to coral, as it is all around plenty of coral and not killing them. But it will grow over them if I were to let it. But still not completely killing them unless the shade it would create kills the coral as a byproduct.

My nitrates have always been a bit low in this tank (1-3 ppm) but I have plenty of turf algae that stays under control by my tangs and a chaeto Refugium on opposite light cycle so I’ve always assumed I have nitrates but it is consumed by tank algae before it is detectable by tests.

Phosphate ranges from .21-.35 normally

Any suggestions on products to get rid. Thanks.

Additional info.

This Tank is about a year old.

I have tried brushing off rocks with toothbrush and scraping off sand bed manually 3-4 times and always comes back.

Have tried dr Tim’s one and only and micrbacter 4 together to give healthy bacteria back to the tank even though that should have been well established. But was worth a try.

Has been going on for about 2 1/2 months now.

Haven’t tried chemicals yet but not opposed to it as long as it’s reef/fish/invert 100% safe.
