I'm struggling to find good pictures to define what I have here. Is this cyano? It's mostly purple with some bluish/green sections. When it reaches the glass it makes a fast growing film. When it reaches the gha covered rocks it will grow on top of the algae. When I drag my fingers across it I can easily collect/roll it up for removal. It's pretty heavy and does not siphon out easily at all. So far removal by hand has been my go-to. It will hold air under it. Not slimy at all. It'll come back in patches like the picture but eventually form into full on continuous mats. The hermits and conch seem to pick at it but don't do much at all in the way of controlling it. When I pull it out they do seem to eagerly go after the remnants.

Its cyano. Nothing really eats it. You have to control nutrients (phosphate & nitrate) and remove it manually. You could use chemiclean, or similar, but it will be temporary unless you get the nutrients out of the water columns. I removed it manually by making a siphon from airline tubing and siphoning it out into my filter sock before changing, or water change bucket and then it is out of the tank, along with the nutrients.

Thanks for the confirmation. I'm running fallow until 28 June so nutrient control will be a breeze. I've been feeding a 3/4" square of LRS fish frenzy every other day or so to my cleaner shrimp, crabs and hermits to save my snails.
