You can estimate the maximum amount of ammonia produced by your system from the amount of food you put into your system. Find the amount in mg of protein it contains, take 16% of that, multiply by 17/14. This is the mg of ammonia that can be produced per day. Divide this number by the total number of liters in your system and you have the maximum ppm ammonia produced. Note this not produced all at once but more over hours after feeding.
