What’s considered a “light” bioload? Would two clowns in a 40b suffice?
Yes, two small fish in 40 gallons is light.

You can estimate the maximum amount of ammonia produced by your system from the amount of food you put into your system. Find the amount in mg of protein it contains, take 16% of that, multiply by 17/14. This is the mg of ammonia that can be produced per day. Divide this number by the total number of liters in your system and you have the maximum ppm ammonia produced. Note this not produced all at once but more over hours after feeding.

Hey your pic lends a neat clue it’s why I value pics above test reads

that rock looks live, was it wet or dry when you brought it home

Post a full tank shot
It was dry. 40 lbs Caribsea Life Rock. Been filled since 9/2.

Don’t pay attention to the dirty glass or low water level! Haha. Also have to fix my intake. It’s too long for the tank.

Thanks! First time doing it but I wanted a cave, an island, and an arch as well I could with the rocks I had. Gluing wasn’t as hard as I thought.
