Cycling a tank - low nitrates

I regularly had small pair of clowns in ~3 gallons water in a hospital tank with very-very light feeding and water lasted 3-4 days before ammonia started to turn green on the badge - in a 20 gallon some careful feeding likely won't result in much of ammonia and clowns anyway doesn't care much about low levels of ammonia.

Colony is good stuff, with live sand, rubble etc I would expect it to be able to handle this initial load, I see not much issue, all I would do is to measure parameters daily for a while, there might be ammonia spikes when you feed more or when you first time clean your rocks/syphon sand/diturb detritus etc

Adding further livestock is up to you to be honest, if biofilter is good (which you can't check anyway as with fish in the tank you can't dose much ammonia) I would prolly chuck in a TOUGH coral or two, a xenia or a gsp frag they are cheap and will be surviving the ammonia spikes as well, the worst I saw them closing up for a day or two when biofilter was not up to the task.
