How long can I expect to have a nitrite spike during cycle?

I have a Hannah ulr and the reading is maxed out at 200.

Should I wait to put fish in?
Ammonia approaching zero. (Obviously wait until ammonia is almost gone)

Approx 3 weeks. It’s a 300 gal system.
Usually if you have nitrates the cycle is completed , when I cycled my tank which is only 20 gallons once o had nitrates I did a 50% water change and added 2 fish and they have been fine since January

Yeah, I would agree. 300 gallons, I give it a good water change and get yourself a pair of Clowns or something similar. They should be all right
